Darae Johnson: Reiki
Our bodies’ natural harmony has a tendency to fall out of balance due to stress or illness. Luckily, our bodies also have the natural tendency to heal and restore this balance. While this holds true, no life is without moments of vulnerability and uncertainty, and it is in these moments that Reiki acts as a helping hand to aid in our healing. For a long time I was stagnant in the face of problems I couldn’t seem to brave my own, yet found it difficult to ask for help. It took many years, but I’ve learned that the Universe is always there to help guide you; it’s just waiting for you to ask. Reiki has become more than simply a practice, but a part of who I am. It teaches me how to be a better person for myself, allowing me to show up better for others. To practice Reiki is to embody the nurturing light of the Universe and envelop its pure, gentle light around those who seek it.
