Sarah Larson (Schmidt) M.OMSc, BA Hon. KIN: Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (OMP)
Contact: email – sarahtheOMP@gmail.com , call/text – 519-998-4275
Sarah graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO) with a Master in Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences in 2021 after 4 years of rigorous training and several hundreds of hours of supervised clinical practice. Sarah comes from a kinesiology background prior to her osteopathic studies, where she focused on rehabilitation research for athletes and people who have suffered concussions. Sarah continues her education by remaining active at the CAO, tutoring students privately and partaking in workshops approved by the Ontario Osteopathic Association.
Sarah is passionate about the arts as well, having grown up as a dancer and spent the last decade as a dance teacher, she enjoys bringing her Osteopathic knowledge of body mechanics into the classroom to help students understand their bodies better. It was through dance and being injured herself as a dancer that Sarah saw a need for someone who understands the artistic athlete’s body in a rehabilitative environment. Along her journey from that discovery, a deep passion for helping people of all ailments and disabilities grew, thanks to her experience at the clinics she volunteered at over the years both as a student of Kinesiology, and Osteopathy.
For those new to Osteopathy and curious if it is what you are looking for, the answer is likely yes. We as OMP’s follow the teachings of our founder Dr. Andrew Taylor Still who proved in his many successful years of practice that the body is a dynamic system of functioning in which all parts must work together in synchronization for the common goal: health. We see and hear the body as it compensates for parts that are restricted in motion and work to unravel those compensations so that it may self-heal and self-regulate.
Sarah is thrilled to be a part of the Transense team. Feel free to contact her if you’d like more information or to book an appointment."
