Jared PostanceJared Postance is a cancer survivor and a former national level athlete. His Master of Osteopathic Manual Science thesis explored a variety of issues surrounding the development and care of patients dealing with autoimmune diseases. He graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, he holds a BPHE and BA in Health from Queen's University and a certificate in Athletic Therapy from York University. As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Jared uses the classical approach provided to us by Dr A.T. Still (founder of Osteopathy) which encompasses a gentle, and thorough evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of the entire body.  This original thought identifies the causative factor of the problem and restores order to the body. Jared is an active member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, the Institute of Classical Osteopathy and the founder of the Society for Osteopathic Wellness. 

Jared is a co-author of "Headaches, Pain, TMJ & Sleep Disorders". He recently edited and revised "A Review of Spinal Mechanics" by Chris Campbell. Jared was the only Osteopathic Manual Practitioner featured in a documentary entitled "The Wellness Story".

Nancy MedeirosNancy studied Osteopathy at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. Her Master of Osteopathic Manipulative Science Thesis explored women's infertility and the implementation of Osteopathy as a viable treatment. Nancy is interested in the correction of physiological and anatomical in the human body to treat and prevent disease and disorder. As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Nancy restores health by using gentle manual techniques and an in-depth knowledge of of anatomy, physiology and and biomechanics. She understands that successful treatment must address underlying causes, rather than focusing on the symptoms. Nancy has treated a wide range of symptoms and diseases. Her patients range from infants to expectant mothers to the elderly. As an athletic therapist, Nancy has worked with sports teams including the York University Varsity Football team and Canada's National Men's Soccer team. She graduated from York University in 2004 with an honours degree in Kinesiology and a certificate in athletic therapy.  Nancy understands health as a whole system concept that includes mind, body, and spirit. She has a passion for mastering new things. Nancy maintains balance and fosters growth through many activities including: book club, continual osteopathic lectures, yoga and hiking. Nancy is a former volunteer-leader of Habitat for Humanity trips that help build affordable housing around the world. Nancy has also painted all of the paintings hanging at our Parliament and Stouffville Clinics.

Marinella completed a Master of Practice in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc) at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy following over a thousand hours of specialized training in areas including yoga therapeutics, prenatal health, rehabilitation, and advanced yoga practices. She merges the disciplines of osteopathy and body movement with rigour and skillful intuition.
Her manual therapy sessions help heal, strengthen and optimize health and wellbeing. Her understanding and ability to assist body mechanics in relationship with movement, emotions, and experience is unequaled. Most importantly, she kindly guides patients to a self-care practice that is self-honouring and full of potential for transformation and discovery.

Carmina Articona

Registered Acupuncturist and Practitioner of Chinese Medicine

CarmonaCarmina graduated from the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TSTCM), successfully completing a four year TCMP Diploma program with honours. She is a registered member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario and is practised in the areas of acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, moxibustion, and Tui Na massage. Carmina has also traveled to Denver, CO to study under Dr. Martha Lucas, where she earned the certification to use Dr. Lucas’ patented Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture system to treat patients for facial/neck rejuvenation and weight management. Carmina is an educator and an advocate of continuing education and lifelong learning. She’s a faculty member of her alma mater TSTCM where she teaches TCM theory classes and tutors TCM students preparing for their licensing exams. In clinic, Carmina teaches her patients how to use TCM for self care at home, providing them with tools like TCM diet and Qi gong to help prolong the effects of her treatments.

As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Carmina’s approach to healing begins with caring and compassion, and respecting that each patient is unique. She follows the basic premise of TCM practice: “Treat the patient, not the disease” – meaning she treats the patient as a whole, restoring balance within the body, strengthening the person’s Qi (vital energy), thereby allowing the body to fight the disease naturally. Carmina has successfully treated patients with digestive disorders, gynecological disorders, stress related disorders, pains/aches, allergies, insomnia and as a former intern at the Dorothy Lea Hospice has experience in bereavement support and palliative care.
