Ann Schnurr: Psychotherapy
I am a registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and have been in practice since 1999.
As a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, I work with a wide range of approaches such as Emotional Bodywork, Dream Interpretation, Relaxation and Visualization, Myth, Narrative, Creative Art Expression, Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) and Focusing which enable a client to enter their individual process and gain a deeper sense of themselves. My approach is client-centered, respectful, confidential and empathic - this is the client’s journey, to which I offer trained insight and guided exploration. In their exploration, the client gains new understanding of their life patterns allowing them to grow and forge new life pathways. The therapeutic goal is for a client to enter into a life-long dialogue and awareness with themselves so that, after formal therapy has ended, they may continue to make healthy life choices.
I work with clients seeking to address depression, anxiety, eating disorders, addictions, trauma, employment and relationship challenges, stress and anger issues.
The right fit of therapist and client is essential to the process. I offer a free ½ hour phone consultation to new clients.
I am a mother of two children. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, gardening and great repartee!
“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free”(Michelangelo)
My role, as therapist, is to assist a client to understand their unconscious dynamics, to work towards an emotional awareness which allows them to change their life patterns and release that which binds them from living a more fulfilling life.
