Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy:
Craniosacral therapy is holistic practice with roots in osteopathy. The client remains fully clothed, while the therapist lightly places her hands along the spine, head and other parts of the body to encourage the nervous system, organs and musculoskeletal system to release restrictions and correct imbalances. By freeing up energy that was being used to maintain these tension patterns, this work results in greater wellbeing, deeper relaxation and less pain.
The Biodynamic approach means that the practitioner does not apply a predetermined protocol or use manipulations. Rather, with gentle contact and no pressure, the body is supported to rebalance from the inside out. This makes it ideal for people of all ages, including babies and pregnant women.
On a physical level, conditions that respond well to craniosacral therapy include muscle or joint pain or injury, stress or anxiety, depression, TMJ syndrome, birth trauma, neurological conditions, headaches, PTSD. This work considers the body in a holistic manner; mind, body and emotions are all supported.
