Laura Lee Nimilowich:  Psychotherapy

Laura Lee Nimilowich is a relational psychotherapist passionate about providing quality service and care to her clients. Her philosophy is that everyone has the right to healthcare regardless of sex, race, gender, ethnicity or financial situation. She is dedicated to creating an anti-oppressive and anti-racist therapeutic environment that promotes safety, openness, compassion, empathy, where each individual is treated with dignity and respect.

Relational Psychotherapy encourages the exploration of our ways of relating to ourselves and others, as well as our understanding of the world and our way of being in that world, as it relates to our emotions. When difficulty arises in our lives, we are able to trace back these difficulties to our earliest interactions with our caregivers.
In the therapeutic relationship, individuals are able to discuss their concerns and struggles in a safe environment that encourages self-expression, heightened self-awareness, exploration and deeper understanding of negative feelings.

Laura Lee’s work experience includes working with adults and youth with intellectual and physical disabilities in both residential and community settings. She has been trained in an ARAO (anti-racist, anti-oppressive) framework and in a recovery model.

Currently she is a student member of CAPT (Canadian Association of Psychodynamic Therapy. Her academic background consists of a BA in Sociology, BA in Religious Studies, MA in Religious Studies (candidate), Toronto Institute of Relational Psychotherapy (candidate).

Laura Lee works with individuals who are 18 years or older who may be experiencing, or have experienced, the following:
• Stress
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Trauma
• Relationship difficulties

She also welcomes individuals who would like to learn more about themselves through deeper exploration concerning their way of being and relating to the world and others in that world. Her rates are based on a sliding scale ranging from $40 to $80 and the initial consultation is free of charge
