Rebecca Gower: Homeopathic Medicine

How I found Homeopathic Medicine:
I have been interested in natural health for many years. I was suffering from chronic allergies and chronic yeast infections in my 20s and intuitively felt that there had to be a natural medicine that could help improve my symptoms. After trying several modalities with limited success, I went to see a Homeopath. I began to feel an improvement of my symptoms from the first prescription of a homeopathic remedy. Since that time, I only have occasional symptoms of allergies and develop fewer acute illnesses. I use homeopathy to address most of my chronic health issues as well as for injuries and acute ailments. After this amazing experience of restoring my health, I knew that homeopathy would become my next career; a career that is challenging, rewarding and inspiring.
Education/Training:
I graduated from The Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine (formerly the Toronto School of Homeopathic Medicine) - the only Homeopathic School in Canada certified by the Accreditation Commission for Homeopathic Education in North America (ACHENA). I received in-depth training in homeopathic medicine and the medical sciences including advanced clinical practice, nutrition, anatomy/physiology, pathology and physical examination. As part of my homeopathic studies, I completed an honours thesis on using Homeopathy to treat people living with HIV/AIDS.
I believe in continuing education. I continue to hone my skills by studying with renowned homeopaths Joseph Kellerstein and Andre Saine. I have also been fortunate to work with Dr. D.P. Rastogi of New Delhi who conducted several clinical trials on using homeopathy in the treatment of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Treatment Philosophy:
I am interested in working with people to facilitate the experience of wellness. I firmly believe that my role is both as a partner and an advocate for the health of my patients. I am passionate about working with patients for whom conventional medicine either has no available treatment or who have chronic disease that necessitates large amounts of pharmaceutical medicines.
I practice Hahnemannian Homeopathy. This means that I aim to follow the instructions of Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of Homeopathy, as laid out in the seminal text of Homeopathy which is called The Organon of the Medical Art. While there are many modern methods of homeopathy, the most successful homeopaths of all time were many old Masters who practiced the original homeopathy.
Areas of Specialization:
I will treat people suffering from a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions. I am especially interested in women’s health (especially pregnancy and labour, PMS and painful periods, menopause, endometriosis, fibroids and candida); children’s health (including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, skin conditions and acutes such as croup, whooping cough, teething and fever). In addition, I have a lot of clinical experience treating people with anxiety, insomnia, and HIV or AIDS.
